Lint build up causes the dryers to run longer,
sometimes loads need to be run through the
cycle more than once to dry clothes, increasing
your utility bills and the wear on your appliances.
Lint build up can also cause overheating and in
extreme cases can cause a fire. Regular vent
cleaning will reduce the hydro bills, the wear on
your appliances and will prevent the risk of a fire.
Commercial Dryers and Laundry Facilities
Laundry facilities in apartment complexes, retirement homes, hospitals, rooming houses and any other location with multiple/commercial dryers see large quantities of laundry over the course of a year. In normal day-to-day use, the average dryer vent should be cleaned annually. If the facilities are used extensively they may need to be cleaned every three to six months. With the increased volume of laundry done in these larger facilities, management companies should be aware of lint build up that may occur in the individual dryer vents and the large collector ducts.
